How Does Hemp Fit Into My Diet?

You’ve done your research and you’ve decided you want to start eating more hemp to better your health. Since hemp is the most nutritionally complete food source on the planet, sustainable to produce, cruelty-free and profitable for farmers – everyone wins, and it’s surprisingly easy to incorporate into your diet.

Hemp seeds are an excellent source of protein, as they contain up to 33% plant protein within the shelled seed, 35% essential fatty acids which provide us with nutritional benefits making it a versatile health food and minerals. Hemp seeds are full of essential nutrients such as omegas (which have anti-inflammatory effects), high in essential amino acids that help produce nitric oxide (which aids in reducing blood pressure), high in fiber to aid healthy digestion, and rich in vitamin E (a known antioxidant). Hemp seeds have even been reported to possibly have anti-cancer effects and may reduce the risk of heart disease.

Hemp seeds also contain all-natural plant protein making them suitable for various diets including Vegan, Gluten-Free, Keto, Paleo, Halal, some Kosher diets and more.

But “how do I eat more hemp?’” you ask.

There are several ways to eat more hemp, the most simple way for you to do this is to sprinkle a spoonful or two of Evo Hemp Hearts into your smoothie, on top of cereal, salads – basically, anything you might already add some seeds into. You can use it as a breadcrumb substitute if you are gluten-free, as a substitute for nuts if you have a nut allergy or just give your food some extra flavor.

Another super-easy way to increase your hemp intake is to buy our premade fruit and nut or protein bars, which are convenient to throw in your bag and eat on-the-go. Our Evo Hemp Protein Bars have 12g of protein, they are a great source of fiber and low in sugar. They taste like a treat but are deceivingly so healthy!

If you’re into working out, or just need to eat more protein (as a vegan I know I need to do this more consciously) you can try Hemp Protein. We offer two different protein powders currently available;Evo Hemp ProteinandEvo Hemp 90. Hemp protein powder is a great way to get organic natural protein into your diet with 15g-27g of protein per serving (depending on which protein you get). Hemp protein has a creamy, nutty flavor which makes it perfect for mixing into smoothies, granola, oatmeal, rice dishes and more.

Lastly,Evo Hemp Seed Oilis cold-pressed from the raw shelled hempseed for a delicate nutty flavor. No other vegetable oil offers essential fatty acids at such high concentrations. Hemp has the ideal 3:1 Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio.

Evo Hemp has also createdHempseed oil + which has all the benefits of regular hempseed oil but contains 15mg of full-spectrum hemp extract, adding a little CBD to your day without the bitter taste of the extract.

Hemp seed oil is delicious when drizzled on top of salads, vegetables or pizza when combined to make salad dressings or blended into dips such as hummus or pesto. You can add it into smoothies or sandwich spreads for a nutritious and tasty boost.

So there you have it, four easy ways to get more hemp into your daily diet. By making simple switches you can be sure to get enough hemp to make a change, just don’t try to do it all at once or you might get overwhelmed. Start small with easy changes like hemp seed hearts on your morning cereal or a bagel.
